Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities is opening a new chapter in its literary legacy with the launch of the Katharine Boyd Writers’ Circle. This exciting new program builds on Weymouth’s deep creative roots and begins with the guidance of acclaimed North Carolina author Jim Gulledge, known for his novel Green Forest, Red Earth, Blue Sea and his longtime role at Pfeiffer University.

Gulledge will lead the inaugural workshop, So, What’s Your Story?, beginning Monday, September 29th from 6pm-8pm and continuing bi-weekly through November. Drawing from his popular university course, he will invite writers to explore their personal histories, uncovering stories beyond names and dates to the emotional truths of ancestry and identity. Participants will share discoveries within the group, shaping them into poems, short stories, art, or other creative forms.

The Katharine Boyd Writers’ Circle is designed not just as a class, but as a creative community that will grow together and chart its own future beyond the first series of workshops.
