Weymouth Center: Hounds on the Grounds
February 15 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
FREE
Join as Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities presents their annual traditional mounted hunt! Be a part of this special tradition, Hounds on the Grounds on Saturday, February 15th | 9am-12pm. Guests will watch as members of the Moore County Hounds, which was founded by James Boyd and his brother, embark on a hunt like those back in the Boyds’ day.
The hunt will begin at 9am. Tailgating is welcome. People are highly encouraged to come as early as 8:00am to make sure to see the riders come onto the Weymouth property. Please gather in the front parking lot at the entrance to the Boyd House. This event is free and open to the public.
Dine after the dash! Stay at Weymouth Center for a traditional hunt breakfast featuring a buffet-style brunch and an open bar featuring beer, wine, mimosas, and Bloody Marys. Enjoy stepping back in time for a traditional hunt breakfast like the Boyds would have hosted. There will be two seatings: one starting at 9:30am, and the second starting at 1:00pm. At the later seating, expect to hear stories from that morning’s hunt and rub elbows with members of the Moore County Hounds! This will be an indoor/outdoor event with a tent on the grounds of Weymouth. All proceeds will benefit Weymouth Equestrians, our afterschool program that aims to bring the power of horses to all youth. Breakfast: $50 for Weymouth Members, $60 for General Admission, $20 for kids
