The Union Pines High School theatre department has secured a top spot at the North Carolina Theatre Conference (NCTC) State High School Play Festival and is now headed to the “state championship” of drama! This prestigious advancement to the five-day competition brings a financial challenge, as the program needs to raise approximately $25,000 to cover travel, lodging, meals, and competition fees for nearly 30 students and their chaperones.

To support this goal, a special fundraiser will be held at CharBar No. 7 on Thursday, January 29th from 7pm-9pm. The evening will feature a performance by Julia Golden, who is generously donating her earnings from the night to the theatre program! Additionally, Char Bar will donate 10% of the night’s proceeds to the cause. Guests will also have the chance to meet members of the “Of Widows and Vegetables” cast, who will be present to perform and engage with the community.
