The Junior North American Field Hunter Championship (JNAFHC)

The Junior North American Field Hunter Championship (JNAFHC) Finals return to Southern Pines on Friday, November 14th and Saturday, November 15th, hosted by the Moore County Hounds.
As the oldest recognized pack of foxhounds in North Carolina, established in 1914, Moore County Hounds carries on a rich tradition of sport, horsemanship, and camaraderie. Known for their Penn-Marydel hounds with unmatched scenting ability and distinctive voices, the club offers an authentic experience in the sporting life.
This special weekend is dedicated to junior riders, ages 18 and under, mounted on suitable foxhunting ponies and horses. The finals are the culmination of a year-long process, with emphasis on rider and mount suitability. The weekend promises great hunting, new and old friendships, exciting new territory, hounds in action, and plenty of ribbons, trophies, and prizes.
More than a competition, the JNAFHC Finals inspire young equestrians to appreciate the countryside, fostering a passion to preserve and protect it for future generations.
