Stars, Stripes & Shared Traditions: A Pinehurst Recipe Collection Celebrating America’s 250 Years

To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, the Village of Pinehurst is creating a community cookbook filled with family recipes, traditions, and stories from our residents! Recipes are requested that have been handed down through generations, are tied to family traditions, holidays, or celebrations — or simply tell a story about life in Pinehurst. To celebrate the people, families, and traditions that make Pinehurst special, the Village is creating a community cookbook featuring recipes and stories from residents.
From holiday favorites to handed-down classics, this collection will reflect how traditions — like democracy — are shared, passed on, and shaped by generations. Submit your recipes online using the form below, or you can visit the Given Memorial Library and Tufts Archives during regular business hours to scan in a handwritten recipe.
Recipe submissions: Through February 13th, 2026
Cookbook release and sales: April–May 2026
We welcome submissions of:
• Appetizers

You’re encouraged (but not required) to include a short note about why the recipe is meaningful to you or your family. Follow the event link provided below for details!
