Sandhills Repertory Theater: “The Music of Les Miserables and Phantom of The Opera”

Broadways’ two longest running shows are here! For fans of two of the longest running musicals in Broadway history, Sandhills Repertory Theater (SRT) presents “The Music of Les Miserables and Phantom of The Opera.”
Hear Broadway favorite Marissa McGowan, along with Matt Leisy (Raoul and understudy to the Phantom in “Phantom of the Opera” tour), Producing Artistic Director Michael Pizzi and music director Brett Boles sing your favorites, including “I Dreamed a Dream”, “Phantom of the Opera”, “Music of the Night”, “Master of the House”, “The Prayer” and many more. This is a sure-fire musical event not to be missed!
Marissa McGowan most recently appeared on Broadway in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s Revival of Kiss Me Kate at Studio 54, where she performed the role of Lilli Vanessi/Kate, appeared on the Tony Awards and on the original cast recording. Marissa had the honor to be chosen by Mr Marvin Hamlisch to star as Stella Purdy in the world premier of Marvin’s last musical THE NUTTY PROFESSOR (directed by the legendary Jerry Lewis). Marissa has also appeared on Broadway in the A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC Revival alongside Catherine Zeta Jones and Angela Lansbury (Original Cast Recording),BONNIE AND CLYDE (Original Cast Recording) and LES MISERABLES (Revival and National Tour) where she performed both the roles of Eponine and Cosette.
Matt Leisy who was last seen in SRT’s “The Andrew Lloyd Webber Songbook” and received a standing ovation mid-performance for his “Music of the Might”, is joining us right after his 18 months on the International tour of “Phantom of the Opera” playing Raoul !
Brett Boles is a Tik Tok star and influencer with his insights into breaking down musical theater songs and providing insights into their musical compositions! He has been a pianist and singer for over 20 years, performing off-Broadway and accompanying major TV and Broadway stars. Brett mentors and assists young musical theater through his M Tea Studio.He is an Ithaca College musical theater graduate.
