In celebration of North Carolina’s Year of the Trail the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitors Bureau have created the Pinecone Pathways Program! 100 glass-blown pinecones are hidden throughout the trail systems in Moore County. This special treasure hunt runs until the end of May or when all the Pinecones have been found! These beautiful pinecones have been created by Starworks, a local non-profit and arts-centered work community that promotes community and economic development by providing outstanding artistic educational programs and business ventures. They have created these pieces exclusive to this program and the pinecones are not available for purchase. Area retailers will sporadically receive updates and clues to hidden pinecone locations, so it is best to keep checking in on various social media outlets in Moore County or the site provided below.
